It’s time to get things started, it’s time to light the lights!

And much like the muppets show, it’s time to peel back the curtains and get the show started with our very own cast of misfits. And, after actually finding an hour to sit down and chat without getting attacked by a puppy or having to drive kids around, we dreamed up our next big contest. Listen up on how to win a brand new, one of a kind Dudes jersey celebrating our 200th episode.

I still haven’t participated in an AoS tournament as I’ve been building up my Nurgle army. I switched over to AoS in August after taking a break from 40k Works and Space Marines. My buddy who got me into 40k had moved onto AoS. However my first Warhammer Tournament (40k) was The Lonestar Open during 9th. Before this tournament I had only played two 2000 point games. I went in expecting to get destroyed. I played Salamanders and was paired up against Thousand Suns. My opponent was great and we fought a close game. I don’t remember the points but I beat him narrowly. What happened next was pure chaos at its finest. I was paired up against my buddy who taught me and who I went to with to Dallas. Let’s just say the dice gods never favor him when he plays me. I won a second game and this one was all due to the dice. I rolled extremely hot and him super cold. Let’s just say the next match was me getting steamrolled by a top 10 in the US player. Ended up dropping the second day due to illness but enjoyed every moment.

That’s awesome and the reason I love the AoS community. Such a great story and thank you for sharing

Dudes! I was listening to your episode and finding it really hard to pick out a favourite tournament. I’ve got some really great memories from different events and that made it really hard. I’m going to have to pick the last event I went to, Hamburg Major 2026. It’s not that anything at the event itself made it stand out but instead the wonderful community of people who were there. That little spark of joy as you see each friendly face turn up and sharing events like this with friends both new and old is what makes any tournament special. This one was a great combo of the newly active and one old tournament veteran friend from back when I started all coming together to make a wonderful weekend!
