That’s fair, I usually create the narrative for my army while building and painting, then it goes a step further once I get them in the table

IMO yes. If I buy it off the shelf from the local club from someone, I’d still say it’s mine. I will create my own narrative with it, certain models will do well or fail miserably for me and that makes it mine, not who built or painted.

Listening to this makes me wonder, if you don’t build your models, base them or paint them, is it even your army?
